STROBE-nut

Guidelines for reporting nutritional epidemiology.

STROBE-nut – an extension of the original STROBE (STrengthening the Reporting of OBservational studies in Epidemiology), where "Nut" indicates that this is an extension for nutritional epidemiology.

A group of seven NEON-members have worked extensively with international colleagues from the consortium REporting of Food INtakE Data (REFINED) and the DIET@NET network from the UK, in an initiative to support improvement in reporting of observational studies in nutritional epidemiology. Several more NEON-members have participated in the Delphi-rounds performed during the development of STROBE-nut.

The STROBE-nut was first published in PLoSMed June 7, 2016. An Explanation and Elaboration paper including more detailed text about how to use the guidelines to improve reporting was published in Advances in Nutrition, September 2017. More information can be found via www.strobe-nut.org.
